Global Research in Extended Education
The WERA TASK FORCE: Global Research in Extended Education is a collaborative group of scholars working on extended education research.
The World Education Research Association (WERA) is an association of national, regional, and international specialty research associations aimed at advancing education research as a scientific and scholarly field.
WERA Task Forces are established by the WERA Council to address education research or research policy issues where WERA may wish to disseminate information or present a view about sound research policy.
Extended Education
Extended education represents a multitude of programs, activities, and offerings, among other things, that provide children and adolescents with a range of supervised activities designed to encourage learning and development, for children to be supervised and safe, and extending the regular school day. Some of them pursue general goals, such as psychological well-being and social competence, others focus on specific educational outcomes and goals.
